Rafaela MLBB Roam Guide: Best Build, Emblem, Skills, Combos, and Counters

Rafaela is a tempo-focused Roam Support who reveals nearby enemies, slows their approach, accelerates allies, and can return one fallen teammate to a fight. Pick her when the draft already has a frontliner or reliable engage and your damage dealers benefit from chase speed. Avoid her when the team needs Rafaela to absorb the first burst or when mobile Assassins can reach her before Holy Healing cycles again.

Quick answer: Use Support Emblem with Agility, Pull Yourself Together, and Focusing Mark plus Flicker. The observed top-five sample centers on Rapid Boots with a Roaming Blessing, Enchanted Talisman, Flask of the Oasis, and Blood Wings. Prioritize Light of Retribution, use Holy Healing to move allies through danger, and hold Holy Baptism for a line stun that teammates can actually reach. Do not channel Divine Resurrection where hero or Legend Creep damage can interrupt it.

Rafaela Skills: What Each One Does

Divine Resurrection official-data skill icon

1. Divine Resurrection — Buff / Passive

Every 10 seconds, Rafaela can channel for 2.5 seconds to resurrect an allied hero and grant 30% Movement Speed for 5 seconds. Hero or Legend Creep damage interrupts the channel. The cooldown adds 600% of the target's remaining respawn time, capped at 240 seconds, and ignores Cooldown Reduction.

When: Begin the channel behind cover after the fight has moved away from the fallen ally.

Do not: Do not channel inside enemy poke range; any hero or Legend Creep hit cancels it.

Light of Retribution official-data skill icon

2. Light of Retribution — AOE / Slow

Rafaela strikes the three nearest enemies for 350 plus 120% Total Magic Power as Magic Damage, briefly reveals them, and slows them by 40% for 1.5 seconds. Repeated hits within 6 seconds deal 20% extra damage per stack, up to three stacks.

When: Check bushes, tag the same target repeatedly, and slow runners before allies commit.

Do not: Do not spend every cast on a different target when one marked enemy can be stacked.

Holy Healing official-data skill icon

3. Holy Healing — Heal / Speed Up

Rafaela restores 100 plus 35% Total Magic Power HP to nearby allies, then gives herself and the most injured ally an additional 150 plus 65% Total Magic Power HP. Nearby allies gain 30% Movement Speed and Slow Immunity for 1 second; every 10 Magic Power adds 1% to the speed bonus.

When: Cast before allies cross a dangerous gap so the speed and Slow Immunity prevent damage.

Do not: Do not wait until everyone is already separated and outside the heal radius.

Holy Baptism official-data skill icon

4. Holy Baptism — CC / AOE

Rafaela sends Holy Light in a line, dealing 460 plus 120% Total Magic Power as Magic Damage and stunning enemies for 1.2 seconds.

When: Layer the line stun after a slow or allied engage so the narrow path connects.

Do not: Do not throw it through open space at a mobile target with an unused dash.

Skill Upgrade Priority

Upgrade Skill 1 at Level 1 and prioritize upgrading Skill 1 with Skill 2 as backup. Upgrade the Ultimate whenever it is available.

In practical terms, max Light of Retribution for faster poke and bush checks, keep Holy Healing as the backup upgrade, and level Holy Baptism whenever available. Divine Resurrection is a passive-channel tool rather than the normal level-up target.

Rafaela Combos

Teamfight combo

Light of Retribution → Holy Baptism → Holy Healing

Use 1st Skill to slow enemies, then her Ultimate for Control Effect, then use the 2nd Skill to restore allies' HP.

Reset rule: If Light of Retribution misses the target you need to control, preserve Holy Baptism and reposition instead of forcing a narrow stun.

Use 1st Skill to poke enemiesand 2nd to heal and create distance.

How to Play Rafaela by Game Phase

Early game

Use Light of Retribution to check bushes and slow the lane target before your ally trades. Rapid Boots rewards clean rotations, but losing the out-of-combat speed to stray damage can ruin the timing.

Mid game

Move with the first engager around Turtle and turret corridors. Cast Holy Healing before allies cross the gap, then layer Holy Baptism after the enemy commits to a line.

Late game

Stay one screen behind the first contact. Track which ally has the most valuable resurrection window, keep the channel location out of vision, and use Flicker to survive rather than to begin a blind engage.

Five Rafaela Mistakes to Avoid

1. Frontlining without a tank

Healing does not replace the durability needed to absorb the enemy's first burst.

2. Healing after the gap closes

Holy Healing is strongest when its speed and Slow Immunity prevent damage before the carry is trapped.

3. Throwing Holy Baptism at open space

The line is narrow; slow the target or wait for allied control before committing it.

4. Channeling resurrection in vision

One hero or Legend Creep hit cancels the 2.5-second channel and starts the base cooldown.

5. Copying full-magic rows blindly

The sample favors Magic Power, but defensive armor is safer when Assassins can reach Rafaela before a second cast.

Best Rafaela Emblem and Battle Spell

Default: Support Emblem + Flicker

Talents: Agility, Pull Yourself Together, and Focusing Mark. Support Emblem improves healing, cooldown access, and movement; Agility sharpens rotations, Pull Yourself Together returns Flicker and active utility sooner, and Focusing Mark rewards tagging the target before allies deal damage.

Do not use Flicker: to enter a fight that has no allied follow-up. Keep it for one emergency reposition or a confirmed Holy Baptism angle.

Alternatives: Purify or Sprint

Purify is the anti-control choice when the first stun would prevent Holy Healing. Sprint with Wilderness Blessing is the chase-and-rotation route for low-lockdown drafts. These alternatives give up Flicker's instant wall and line-stun reposition.

Rafaela Counters and Teammates

Good partners

Freya hero iconLapu-Lapu hero iconSaber hero icon

Freya and Lapu-Lapu gain safer entry speed and more time inside their damage zones, while Saber converts Rafaela's reveal and slow into a direct pick. Accelerate their first contact, then stun the escape line.

Difficult answers

Ling hero iconHayabusa hero iconIxia hero icon

Ling and Hayabusa bypass the frontline and can interrupt resurrection positioning. Ixia punishes grouped allies from range. Hold Flicker, spread before the damage channel, and do not reveal Rafaela first.

Masha and Barats dislike repeated slows in connected fights, while Light of Retribution helps expose conceal pressure from Natalia. Keep tagging the same target and let allies use Focusing Mark's window.

Rafaela Story

As the Abyss returned after the Golden Era, the Lord of Light sent angels into the Land of Dawn. Rafaela became one of those agents of light, defined by protection, healing, and the difficult bond between celestial duty and the human world she defends.

Rafaela FAQ

What is the best Rafaela battle spell?

Flicker is the default because it fixes one bad position or creates a confirmed Holy Baptism line. Purify answers hard control, while Sprint supports long chase rotations.

Which skill should Rafaela upgrade first?

Prioritize Light of Retribution, keep Holy Healing as the backup upgrade, and level Holy Baptism whenever available.

What is Rafaela's core combo rule?

Slow and reveal with Light of Retribution, stun the committed path with Holy Baptism, then use Holy Healing to carry allies through the chase or retreat.

Can Divine Resurrection be interrupted?

Yes. Hero or Legend Creep damage during the 2.5-second channel interrupts it and puts the skill on base cooldown.

Is one Pro Setup always best?

No. The five observed rows share a Magic Power core, but Rafaela still needs early defense when dive prevents the second heal.

Verdict

Rafaela wins by arriving first, revealing the safe target, and giving allies speed before damage lands. Keep the shared mana-and-healing core, but replace greedy Magic Power with defense when Assassins can reach her. Compare the Bruno guide, the Bane guide, and the Franco guide.
