Lapu-Lapu is a durable EXP Lane Fighter who turns a short poke-and-dash kit into a ten-second Great Sword engage. Pick him when allied crowd control can group enemies and absorb the first response; avoid blind entries into agile marksmen, knockback, or drafts that can interrupt his approach before he transforms.

Lapu-Lapu accumulates 10 Bravery Blessing each time he deals damage (halved for damage dealt to non-hero units). When Bravery Blessing is full, Lapu-Lapu's next Basic Attack will make him dash toward the target, dealing (+150% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage (cannot Crit) and granting him a shield that absorbs 250 (+65*Hero Level) damage for 2.5s.
When: Charge Bravery Blessing before walking into a trade so the next Basic Attack can dash and shield.
Do not: Do not begin an objective fight with an empty bar and expect the passive shield to rescue the first entry.

Lapu-Lapu releases two boomerangs in the target direction, each boomerang dealing 140 (+50% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies hit on its way out and back. Enemies hit by both boomerangs take 50% damage from the second hit.
When: Send both boomerangs through the wave or a controlled target; the return path creates the second hit.
Do not: Do not stand in melee range just to guarantee both hits before level 4.

Lapu-Lapu dashes in the target direction, dealing 100 (+50% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies along the way.
When: Use the dash to cross the last gap, dodge a skill, or line up the transformation landing.
Do not: Do not spend Jungle Warrior forward when enemy crowd control and the return route are unknown.

Lapu-Lapu leaps to the target location while combining his twin blades into one, dealing 300 (+80% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to nearby enemies upon landing and slowing them by 60% for 1s. (This skill cannot be interrupted.) Lapu-Lapu gains 3 times the Bravery Blessing from this skill and skills in transformed state. For the next 10s, Lapu-Lapu enters Great Sword stance and gains enhanced skills, 30 extra Physical & Magic Defense, and his Basic Attack damage is increased to 120%.
When: Land between multiple enemies after the first control layer is spent, then use the enhanced kit during the ten-second window.
Do not: Do not leap alone at one protected carry when the team cannot follow.

Unlock Justice Blades at level 1, prioritize Justice Blades, upgrade Jungle Warrior as the backup, and level Bravest Fighter whenever available. This matches the local official-data priority and gives Lapu-Lapu the best lane poke before his transformation window.

Why: Justice Blades pokes, Jungle Warrior reaches the fight, Bravest Fighter transforms, Raging Slash supplies the main burst, Storm Sword adds damage reduction, and Land Shaker finishes with crowd control.
Do not: Wait for the first enemy control layer; the transformation entry should be the second beat, not the only engage.

Why: Poke with Justice Blades, then use Jungle Warrior and an enhanced Basic Attack once Bravery Blessing is full.
Do not: Do not chase beyond river vision after using the dash forward.
Clear safely with Justice Blades, pre-charge Bravery Blessing, and reach level 4 without giving a melee lane free trades. Use Jungle Warrior for a planned exchange or escape.
Move behind a hard-engage roamer, transform after the first control layer, and land Storm Sword on multiple heroes so the Great Sword window is durable enough to continue.
Preserve Flicker, enter from fog, and choose the defense slot for the damage that can stop the third Raging Slash swing. Peeling a diver is better than forcing an unreachable carry.
Bravest Fighter is strongest after allied control or enemy cooldowns create a safe landing.
The second boomerang pass matters for poke and Bravery Blessing. Aim through the target, not merely at it.
The enhanced second skill rewards hitting several heroes with more damage reduction.
Choose Dominance Ice for nearby sustain, Oracle for stronger shields, or a dedicated resistance for burst.
Do not spend Jungle Warrior and Flicker only to start a fight that the team cannot finish.
Fighter Emblem: Firmness, Festival of Blood, and Brave Smite. Firmness strengthens early trades, Festival of Blood scales spell vamp, and Brave Smite restores HP when skills hit enemy heroes. Battle Spell: Flicker corrects the approach angle or lets Lapu-Lapu reposition between Great Sword swings.
Do not: Flicker into the back line before allied control can follow.
Use Vengeance when the draft requires Lapu-Lapu to absorb the first contact. In the jungle, replace Festival of Blood with Seasoned Hunter and use Ice Retribution for objective tempo and sticking power.
The current Lapu-Lapu build reference supports the Fighter Emblem, Flicker, Vengeance, and Retribution routes; the current emblem glossary and Battle Spell glossary define the named systems. All were accessed August 9, 2026.
The current Pro Setup list returned three ranked rows on August 8, 2026. Those rows stay tied to their in-game win rate, matches, power, and player. Two separately labeled variants from the current Lapu-Lapu build reference complete the five-sample decision module without being represented as in-game ranks.
| Sample / rank | Player shown | WR / Matches / Power | Six-item order | When to copy | When not to |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| In-game rank 1 | TT: Cik x EX... | 69% / 585 / 10189 | Tough Boots → War Axe → Hunter Strike → Queen's Wings → Oracle → Dominance Ice | The draft needs the standard damage core plus shield amplification and nearby anti-heal. | Immediate resurrection or physical-skill defense is more urgent than the final aura. |
| In-game rank 2 | Jeysick | 62% / 897 / 10161 | Hunter Strike → Tough Boots → War Axe → Queen's Wings → Oracle → Dominance Ice | An early Hunter Strike helps rotations before boots and War Axe complete the core. | The lane needs defensive boots before a damage-first opener. |
| In-game rank 3 | Lu Mike. | 60% / 497 / 8821 | Tough Boots → War Axe → Queen's Wings → Dominance Ice → Oracle → Immortality | A balanced bruiser path needs anti-heal, shield amplification, and a late revive. | Extra chase damage is required before the enemy back line outscales the engage. |
| Frontline variant | Source-backed variant | Not an in-game rank | Tough Boots → War Axe → Queen's Wings → Brute Force Breastplate → Oracle → Immortality | Lapu-Lapu must take first contact and survive repeated mixed damage. | The team already has a durable engager and needs more chase or penetration. |
| Jungle variant | Source-backed variant | Not an in-game rank | Tough Boots → War Axe → Hunter Strike → Queen's Wings → Malefic Roar → Immortality | The jungle assignment needs fast level-four tempo and physical penetration into armor. | Lapu-Lapu is not the assigned jungler or dies before reaching the third swing. |

|---|---|---|---|---|
Tough Boots | +40 Movement Speed +18 Magic Defense Unique Passive - Fortitude: CC and Slow Duration reduced by 25%. | Use into magic damage, slows, or crowd-control chains that can stop the transformation entry. | Use a physical-defense boot only when the enemy lane and first rotation are overwhelmingly physical. | In-game rank 1, In-game rank 2, In-game rank 3, Frontline variant, Jungle variant |
War Axe | +35 Physical Attack +400 HP +10% Cooldown Reduction +8% Hybrid Lifesteal Unique Passive - Fighting Spirit: Attacks grants 12 extra Physical Attack per second for 4 seconds, up to 6 stacks. Deals 10% extra True Damage based on the damage dealt (no damage reduction counted) at full stacks. (Marksmen, Mages, and Supports only receive 50% of these stacked effects.) | Build early so repeated skill hits add attack, true-damage pressure, cooldown reduction, and hybrid lifesteal. | Do not delay it for a luxury damage item when Lapu-Lapu still needs his first sustained-fight spike. | In-game rank 1, In-game rank 2, In-game rank 3, Frontline variant, Jungle variant |
Hunter Strike | +80 Physical Attack +10% Cooldown Reduction Unique Attribute: +15 Physical Penetration Unique Passive - Retribution: Dealing damage to the same enemy hero or creep 5 times in a row grants 50% extra Movement Speed that decays over 3 seconds (8 seconds cooldown). | Use for physical penetration and the movement burst that helps finish after Raging Slash. | Delay when the draft requires immediate durability before a second damage item. | In-game rank 1, In-game rank 2, Jungle variant |
Queen's Wings | +750 HP +30 Adaptive Attack +10% Cooldown Reduction +10% Spell Vamp Unique Passive - Demonize: When HP drops below 40%, gains 30% Damage Reduction for 3 seconds and reduces skill cooldowns by 2 seconds. This effect has a 60 seconds cooldown. Unique Passive - Defiance: For every 1% HP lost, damage is increased by 0.25%, up to 15%. | Buy when Lapu-Lapu will drop low during Great Sword windows and needs damage reduction plus cooldown relief. | Skip only when the enemy cannot threaten the dive and a resistance item answers the draft better. | In-game rank 1, In-game rank 2, In-game rank 3, Frontline variant, Jungle variant |
Oracle | +850 HP +20 Physical Defense +20 Magic Defense +10% Cooldown Reduction Unique Passive - Bless: Received Shield and HP Regen effects are increased by 25%. | Use when stronger passive shields, HP regeneration, and mixed defenses extend the second engage. | Do not buy as the only answer to one large magic burst; use a dedicated shield item when necessary. | In-game rank 1, In-game rank 2, In-game rank 3, Frontline variant |
Dominance Ice | +40 Physical Defense +40 Magic Defense +5% Movement Speed Unique Passive - Fortress Shield: For each enemy hero within 5 units, Hybrid Defense is increased by 8, up to 40. Immortality | +850 HP +15 Physical Defense Unique Passive - Immortal: Resurrect 2.5 seconds upon death and gets 16% Max HP and a shield that can absorb 150(+70*Hero Level)damage. Brute Force Breastplate | +800 HP +20 Physical Defense +10% Cooldown Reduction Unique Passive - Brute Force: Each second after dealing damage, gain 8 extra Adaptive Attack and 2% extra Movement Speed for 4 seconds, up to 6 stacks. Gain 25% extra Control Duration Reduction at full stacks. | Use when movement speed, cooldown reduction, and repeated physical or magic pressure matter together. | Skip when the enemy threat is a single damage type that a specialized defense counters more efficiently. | Frontline variant |
Malefic Roar | +60 Physical Attack Unique Passive - Armor Buster: Increase Physical Penetration by 30%. Unique Passive - Breaker: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.1% extra Physical Penetration for each point of the enemy's Physical Defense, capped at 30%. | Use in the jungle variant when stacked physical defense blocks the dive and Lapu-Lapu can still survive entry. | Do not choose penetration over a defensive slot when he dies before the third Raging Slash swing. | Jungle variant |
Tigreal and Atlas pull enemies together, giving Storm Sword more targets and Raging Slash a reliable landing zone. Enter after their control begins.
Lesley and Moskov can blink or accelerate away and use knockback to break the enhanced skill sequence. Preserve Flicker and approach from fog.
Layla and Eudora lack consistent mobility. Once their protection is spent, Lapu-Lapu can cross the gap and keep them inside the Great Sword area.

Lapu-Lapu leads the Dorik people of the Vonetis Islands. When the Moniyan invasion threatens the homeland he values most, he chooses to confront the battlefield he hates rather than keep running. The resistance he inspires turns personal courage into the defense of his people. This summary follows the current in-game Story panel observed August 8, 2026.
Flicker is the safest EXP Lane default because it fixes the engage angle and can reposition Raging Slash. Use Vengeance for a frontline assignment and Ice Retribution only in the jungle.
Prioritize Justice Blades, upgrade Jungle Warrior as the backup, and level Bravest Fighter whenever available.
Lapu-Lapu hits repeatedly during the transformation window, so attack stacks, true-damage pressure, cooldown reduction, and hybrid lifesteal all support the same fight plan.
Transform after the first enemy control layer is committed or when allied crowd control has grouped targets. A lone unsupported leap is easy to interrupt or kite.
Use Dominance Ice into nearby sustain and attack speed, Oracle for stronger shields and recovery, and Immortality when one late revive can preserve objective pressure.
Lapu-Lapu rewards patience before the leap and aggression after it. Charge Bravery Blessing, let allied control create the landing, hit several heroes with Storm Sword, and choose defense for the damage that can stop the final Great Sword swing.
