Cyclops is a sustained-damage Mage who wins by hitting often: every skill hit reduces all of his cooldowns, so accurate spell cycles create more spells, more movement, and more control. Pick him when your team can protect a short-range damage dealer or punish the target caught by his Ultimate. Avoid blind first picks into several gap closers and hard crowd-control chains.

Each time Cyclops hits an enemy with his skills, all his skill cooldowns are reduced by 0.5s.
When: Count every sphere and disk hit as cooldown acceleration; sustained accuracy matters more than one oversized number.
Do not: Do not waste spells into empty space before an objective fight, because missed hits produce no cooldown refund.

Cyclops casts two Stardust Disks in the target direction, each dealing 240 (+60% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to enemies in its path.
When: Cast Stardust Shock through the whole minion wave or along a controlled target so both disks connect.
Do not: Do not fire at max range without checking the second disk's path.

Cyclops conjures Starlit Spheres around himself, gaining 50% Movement Speed that decays over 2s. The spheres automatically seek and attack nearby enemies (prioritizes enemy heroes), exploding on collision to deal 200 (+65% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage. Damage is reduced for subsequent hits on the same target.
When: Use Planets Attack to close distance, reposition, and feed multiple hits into Starlit Hourglass.
Do not: Do not walk into the enemy front line just to release every sphere; keep an escape angle.

Cyclops creates a Planetary Sphere that tracks the target enemy hero or creep, dealing 500 (+120% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and immobilizing them for 0.75-1.5s (scales with travel distance).
When: Launch Star Power Lockdown from useful distance when your team can collapse on the immobilized target.
Do not: Do not spend it on a tank unless that catch creates a safe objective or a winning front-to-back fight.

Unlock Planets Attack at level 1, prioritize Planets Attack, keep Stardust Shock as the backup upgrade, and level Star Power Lockdown whenever available. This matches the local official-data priority: the second skill supplies movement, repeated hits, and the fastest route into Starlit Hourglass cooldown refunds.

Why: Star Power Lockdown controls the priority target, Planets Attack closes distance and begins the cooldown loop, then Stardust Shock crosses the immobilized target.
Do not: Do not step past your frontline before the target is controlled.

Why: Use Planets Attack to close in, then aim Stardust Shock so both disks and the remaining spheres hit the same opponent.
Do not: Do not chase beyond river vision after the movement-speed burst fades.
Clear with both Stardust Shock disks, protect mana, and reach level 4 without taking unnecessary short-range trades. Use Planets Attack to dodge or finish a safe trade, not merely for movement.
Move with your roamer, catch a vulnerable target with Star Power Lockdown, and keep casting only while your frontline still owns space. Cyclops becomes dangerous when one rotation creates the next.
Play behind vision and preserve Flicker. Control a diver or exposed carry, adapt the last damage slot to enemy magic defense or HP, and never be the first hero seen at Lord.
A miss costs damage and the passive cooldown refund, slowing the whole rotation.
The spheres can split onto nearby targets. Create a clean angle before committing to a hero.
Immobilize matters most when an ally can collapse or when it stops a diver from reaching your backline.
Use Glowing Wand or Wishing Lantern for durable targets, Divine Glaive for magic defense, and Queen's Wings only when durability is actually needed.
Cyclops has no true dash. Reposition before Planets Attack movement speed expires.
Mage Emblem: Inspire, Bargain Hunter, and Impure Rage. Inspire accelerates the cooldown engine, Bargain Hunter brings the core build online sooner, and Impure Rage rewards repeated skill hits while helping mana sustain. Battle Spell: Flicker gives Cyclops the emergency reposition his kit lacks.
Do not: Flicker forward unless the target is controlled and the return path is safe.
Use Mage Emblem with Agility, Seasoned Hunter, and Lethal Ignition plus Ice Retribution when Cyclops is assigned the jungle. Agility improves rotations, Seasoned Hunter supports objective damage, and Lethal Ignition rewards a complete multi-hit rotation.
The Cyclops guide reference supports Inspire, Bargain Hunter, Impure Rage, and Flicker; the jungle Cyclops reference supports Agility, Seasoned Hunter, Lethal Ignition, and Retribution. Both were accessed August 9, 2026.
These rows are a dated in-game build sample from August 8, 2026, not a permanent ranking. All five prioritize mana sustain, cooldown reduction, and hybrid lifesteal before adapting durability, anti-HP damage, or magic penetration.
| Rank | Player shown | WR / Matches / Power | Six-item order | When to copy | When not to |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | KAiTzy | 60% / 937 / 10712 | Magic Boots → Enchanted Talisman → Concentrated Energy → Queen's Wings → Glowing Wand → Divine Glaive | A close-range mid build needs sustain plus Queen's Wings safety and late penetration. | Long-range poke makes the durability slot less useful than reach or burst. |
| 2 | In-game rank 2 | 61% / 692 / 10601 | Magic Boots → Enchanted Talisman → Sky Piercer → Concentrated Energy → Queen's Wings → Divine Glaive | Cyclops is snowballing and can convert Sky Piercer into repeated low-HP finishes. | The team is behind or needs dependable anti-HP damage instead. |
| 3 | WAY-S-S | 59% / 902 / 10352 | Magic Boots → Enchanted Talisman → Concentrated Energy → Wishing Lantern → Holy Crystal → Divine Glaive | The enemy has durable targets and Cyclops can stay protected for a high-Magic-Power finish. | Divers force a defensive slot before Holy Crystal. |
| 4 | Samy | 62% / 742 / 10204 | Magic Boots → Enchanted Talisman → Concentrated Energy → Wishing Lantern → Divine Glaive → Glowing Wand | The enemy mixes high HP, magic defense, and regeneration. | One fragile carry is the only target that matters. |
| 5 | UST Any | 58% / 798 / 10101 | Magic Boots → Enchanted Talisman → Concentrated Energy → Wishing Lantern → Divine Glaive → Glowing Wand | A balanced anti-HP, penetration, and anti-heal finish fits the enemy frontline. | Cyclops needs Queen's Wings or Winter Crown to survive the first dive. |

| Item | Observed effect | When to buy | When to skip | Observed ranks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Magic Boots | +40 Movement Speed +10% Cooldown Reduction +150 HP | Use when cooldown reduction accelerates Cyclops' passive-driven spell loop. | Swap to defensive or penetration boots when the enemy draft demands them. | 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 |
Enchanted Talisman | +70 Magic Power +300 HP +15% Cooldown Reduction Unique Passive - Mana Spring: Regenerates 15% of Max Mana every 10 seconds. Unique Passive - Magic Mastery: Max Cooldown Reduction is increased by 5%. | Buy early for mana sustain and cooldown reduction in repeated rotations. | Delay only when jungle tempo or immediate survival requires another first item. | 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 |
Concentrated Energy | +75 Magic Power +400 HP Unique Attribute: +20% Hybrid Lifesteal Unique Passive - Recharge: Increases Magic Power by 5 after dealing Magic Damage (this effect stacks up to 6 times and can only gain 1 stack every 0.4 seconds). When reaching full stacks, increases Magic Damage by 12% for 5 seconds. | Use for hybrid lifesteal and sustained close-range spell trading. | Do not treat its sustain as permission to walk into layered crowd control. | 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 |
Queen's Wings | +750 HP +30 Adaptive Attack +10% Cooldown Reduction +10% Spell Vamp Unique Passive - Demonize: When HP drops below 40%, gains 30% Damage Reduction for 3 seconds and reduces skill cooldowns by 2 seconds. This effect has a 60 seconds cooldown. Unique Passive - Defiance: For every 1% HP lost, damage is increased by 0.25%, up to 15%. | Use when a bruiser-style mid build needs HP, cooldown reduction, and low-HP protection. | Skip when range and magic penetration are more valuable than durability. | 1, 2 |
Glowing Wand | +60 Magic Power +300 HP +5% Movement Speed Unique Passive - Scorch: Dealing Magic Damage burns the targets for 3 seconds, also dealing extra Magic Damage equal to 1% of the target's Max HP per second. Unique Passive - Lifebane: Dealing damage to the target will reduce the Shield and HP Regen effects on them to 60% of normal for 3 seconds. | Buy into healing, shields, or high-HP targets that stay in repeated spell range. | Delay against fragile targets when direct penetration closes the fight faster. | 1, 4, 5 |
Divine Glaive | +65 Magic Power Unique Attribute: +40% Magic Penetration Unique Passive - Spellbreaker: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.1% extra Magic Penetration for each point of the enemy's Magic Defense, capped at 20%. | Buy when enemy magic defense starts blunting Cyclops' full rotation. | Do not rush before mana, cooldown, and sustain are stable. | 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 |
Sky Piercer | +60 Adaptive Attack +15 Movement Speed Unique Passive - Lethality: After dealing damage to an enemy hero, executes the hero if their HP is lower than 4%. Gains 10 stack(s) of Lethality for each kill and loses 30% current stack(s) for each death. Each stack of Lethality increases the HP threshold of the execute effect by 0.1%, stacking up 80 times. | Use only from a clear lead when Cyclops can repeatedly finish low-HP targets. | Avoid from behind; the slot gives less reliable value than core sustain or penetration. | 2 |
Wishing Lantern | +75 Magic Power +400 Mana +10% Cooldown Reduction Unique Passive - Butterfly Goddess: For every 900 Magic Damage dealt to an enemy hero (calculated before Damage Reduction), a Butterfly Goddess is summoned to attack the enemy hero, dealing Magic Damage equal to 8% of their Current HP. | Use against high-HP frontliners after the core cooldown engine is online. | Skip when Cyclops needs survivability or direct penetration first. | 3, 4, 5 |
Holy Crystal | +165 Magic Power Unique Passive - Mystery: Gains 21%-35% extra Magic Power (scales with level). | Buy when a safe position lets raw Magic Power convert into decisive burst. | Delay when enemy divers can reach Cyclops before he completes a rotation. | 3 |
Belerick and Minsitthar supply the durable crowd control Cyclops needs to stand near the fight and keep cycling spells. Follow their control instead of becoming the frontline.
Lancelot and Kagura can cross Cyclops' short range, dodge predictable projectiles, and punish his lack of a true dash. Hold Flicker and control them after their mobility is committed.
Terizla and Alpha are easier to keep inside repeated disks and spheres. Kite their telegraphed approach, maintain distance, and use the Ultimate to interrupt the moment they commit.

Cyclops grew up studying stars and planetary motion. He learned to store and control that magic through an hourglass, became the Starsoul Magician, and traveled to the Land of Dawn to test himself against powerful opponents. This summary follows the current in-game Story panel observed August 8, 2026.
Flicker is the safest mid-lane default because Cyclops has no true dash. Use Ice Retribution only when he is assigned the jungle.
Prioritize Planets Attack, upgrade Stardust Shock as the backup, and level Star Power Lockdown whenever available.
It supports the mana and cooldown demands of repeated spell cycles, letting Starlit Hourglass create more value over a long fight.
Use it when a teammate can collapse, to stop a diver, or to secure a vulnerable carry. Travel distance increases the immobilize window.
Use Wishing Lantern or Glowing Wand into durable targets, Divine Glaive into magic defense, and Queen's Wings when survival matters more than reach.
Cyclops is strongest when every hit feeds the next cast. Build the mana and cooldown engine first, control a target your team can reach, and preserve enough distance to keep Planets Attack as movement instead of a one-way engage.
