Hylos is a Tank roamer built to lead the first contact and stay attached to a target. Law and Order supplies the approach and one-second stun, Ring of Punishment punishes enemies who remain nearby, and Glorious Pathway gives the whole team a route into or out of a fight. He is easiest to punish when his Mana is wasted before an objective or when percentage-HP damage reaches him without backup.

| Role | Win condition | Main risk | Best job |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tank / Roam | Force a favorable first contact, keep enemies inside Ring of Punishment, and give allies a safe route to follow | Draining Mana before the fight, chasing beyond allied range, or soaking percentage-HP damage without a retreat plan | Stand between the enemy and the back line, control the first diver, and make the pathway useful to more than Hylos alone |

Hylos gains 1.5 extra Max HP for every 1 extra Max Mana he possesses. When out of Mana, Hylos can use his HP for skill casts.
When: Build bonus Mana when its HP conversion and casting budget both matter. Why: Every extra Mana point supplies 1.5 extra Max HP and delays HP-paid casts. Avoid: Do not treat the HP conversion as permission to keep casting at dangerously low HP.
Rule: Mana items also increase Hylos's HP through the passive, but empty-Mana casts spend HP, so disengage before the resource trade becomes fatal.

Hylos gains 50% Movement Speed. His next Basic Attack within 3 seconds deals 300 (+80% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage, knocks the target back, and stuns for 1 second. The speed bonus rapidly decays and ends after the empowered attack.
When: Use before reaching the target so the decaying speed closes distance. Why: The next Basic Attack supplies a knockback and one-second stun to start the trade. Avoid: Do not spend the empowered hit on a low-value unit before reaching the intended target.
Rule: Start the speed-up before entering attack range and hold the empowered hit for the priority target rather than the first unit nearby.

Hylos deals 100 (+20% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage per second nearby, slows by 4%, and reduces Attack Speed by 7.5% for 2.5 seconds, stacking up to eight times. Each stack increases damage taken from the ring by 5%. The toggle consumes 30 Mana per second.
When: Toggle after contact and while at least one important enemy remains nearby. Why: Repeated ticks stack slow, Attack Speed reduction, and extra ring damage. Avoid: Do not leave it running in empty space or during a long disengage.
Rule: Turn the ring on after contact and turn it off when no target can be pressured; every empty second wastes Mana and may later cost HP.

Hylos creates a pathway for 6 seconds and slows enemies by 75% for 1 second. On the path, Hylos gains Slow Immunity and recovers 3% Max HP per second. Allies moving along it gain 60% Movement Speed, while enemies are slowed by 25%.
When: Cast through the route allies can follow, not merely under Hylos's current position. Why: The six-second path accelerates allies, slows enemies, heals Hylos, and can cover either direction. Avoid: Do not point it away from teammates unless it is a deliberate solo escape.
Rule: Aim the path through the route allies will actually travel. It can start an engage, cover a retreat, or let the team rotate through a narrow objective entrance.

Cast Glorious Pathway through the allied approach, activate Law and Order for the speed burst, reach and stun the priority target, then toggle Ring of Punishment while the target and nearby enemies remain inside the aura. Revitalize belongs where allies can hold position after the engage.

Activate Law and Order, land the empowered Basic Attack, then toggle Ring of Punishment for the close-range trade. Stop the ring as the enemy leaves so Mana is available for the next wave or rotation.
Use Hylos's durability to control bushes and the river without giving the enemy a free path around you. Keep Ring of Punishment off between contacts, reserve enough Mana for Law and Order, and escort the damage dealer rather than clearing every wave alone.
Arrive before Turtle or Lord and decide which corridor the enemy must cross. Glorious Pathway is strongest when allies can immediately use the speed, so signal the route through your positioning and do not outrun the follow-up.
Front-line durability matters only while the back line can deal damage. Track Karrie-style percentage-HP pressure, buy the defense that matches the main damage profile, and preserve a retreat line if the first stun does not secure a target.
Agility adds 4% Movement Speed for cleaner engages. Tenacity reduces damage by 5% below 50% HP. Concussive Blast adds area Magic Damage to the next Basic Attack every 15 seconds and scales with 7% Total HP.
The Healing Spring lasts four seconds, restores 2.5% Max HP every 0.4 seconds, and increases shield and HP regeneration effects by 20%. Drop it where allies can continue the fight rather than behind a path they have already crossed.
The current in-game Pro Setup displays the Agility, Tenacity, Concussive Blast, and Revitalize route. The base Role Emblem panel was locked on the observed account, so the Tank Emblem label was cross-checked against established Hylos references.

Use the item notes below to decide what each slot contributes. The table describes each item independently of the numbered builds.
| Item | What it adds | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
Rapid Boots | +55 Movement Speed, +35% Slow Reduction, and +12 HP Regen. It helps Hylos reach the target despite slows and recover between rotations. | Buy when slows prevent clean contact and extra out-of-combat recovery helps rotations; replace if crowd-control duration or a different boot passive is the larger problem. |
Clock of Destiny | +45 Magic Power, +400 HP, +400 Mana, and +10% Cooldown Reduction. Mana becomes extra HP through Thickened Blood while the other stats improve repeated front-line casts. | Buy early when Hylos needs HP, Mana, and cooldown reduction together; delay it if immediate anti-heal or burst defense is more urgent. |
Dominance Ice | +40 Physical Defense, +40 Magic Defense, and +5% Movement Speed. It adds nearby defense scaling and reduces enemy shield and HP regeneration after Hylos deals damage. | Buy into healing, shields, or mixed nearby pressure; prioritize another defense first when a single burst source is the only immediate threat. |
Athena's Shield | +900 HP, +48 Magic Defense, and +2 HP Regen. Its shield reduces incoming Magic Damage after a hero's magic hit and is best against concentrated magic burst. | Buy into concentrated magic burst; replace or delay it when magic damage is sustained or negligible. |
Guardian Helmet | +1800 HP and +20 HP Regen. It restores Hylos between fights and rewards disengaging long enough to return with a full front line. | Buy for a large HP pool and recovery between fights; delay it when percentage-HP damage or penetration makes raw HP inefficient. |
Chastise Pauldron | +900 HP and +40 Physical Defense. It limits a Basic Attacker's speed and provides a low-HP recovery window against physical pressure. | Buy into fast Basic Attack pressure and physical dives; replace it when the enemy damage is mostly skill-based magic. |
Antique Cuirass | +920 HP, +40 Physical Defense, and +4 HP Regen. Attackers that hit Hylos with skills lose Physical Damage for a short duration, stacking up to three times. | Buy against repeated physical skill damage; replace it when Basic Attacks or magic damage are the real threat. |
Thunder Belt | +600 HP, +15 Physical Defense, +15 Magic Defense, and +20 Movement Speed. Its empowered Basic Attack adds damage and a slow after a skill, rewarding close-range sticking. | Buy when Hylos can repeatedly reach targets after casting and use the empowered Basic Attack; delay it when he must survive burst before he can stick. |
Blade Armor | +80 Physical Defense and +20% Critical Damage Reduction. It reflects part of Basic Attack damage and slows the attacker, making it useful into marksmen and critical hits. | Buy against critical and Basic Attack damage; replace it when the enemy carry relies on skills or magic damage. |
Radiant Armor | +950 HP, +40 Magic Defense, and +12 HP Regen. Repeated magic hits build extra Magic Defense, so it is stronger into sustained magic damage than a single burst combo. | Buy into sustained multi-hit magic damage; use Athena's Shield instead when one concentrated magic combo is the main danger. |
Immortality | +850 HP and +15 Physical Defense. It revives Hylos after 2.5 seconds with 16% HP and a temporary shield; cooldown 210 seconds. | Buy late when a second life forces another enemy rotation or protects a final objective fight; swap after its passive is unavailable if another defense offers more value. |
| Group | Heroes | Why it matters | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best partners | They punish enemies held inside a narrow area and can follow Hylos's direct initiation. | Aim the path through their effective range and hold the stun for the target they can reach. | |
| Hard threats | High mobility and damage that does not care only about Hylos's raw HP can shorten his front-line window. | Track their escape, avoid a long solo chase, and buy the defense matching the actual damage pattern. | |
| Favorable matchups | Low mobility makes the Law and Order approach and pathway slow harder to escape. | Enter with allied follow-up, preserve the stun until they commit position, and block their retreat with the path. |

In the northern Misty Mountains, the centaurs guard a life-giving fountain from forces that seek its power. When attrition weakened the defenders, Hylos arrived and used nature's wrath to punish the invaders. His defense of the fountain made him a legendary guardian in the Land of Dawn.
Learn and prioritize Ring of Punishment, keep Law and Order as the backup upgrade, and level Glorious Pathway whenever available.
Tank Emblem with Agility, Tenacity, and Concussive Blast supports movement, low-HP durability, and close-range damage.
Revitalize is the default teamfight choice because it sustains Hylos and nearby allies. Flicker can be considered when one instant reposition matters more than prolonged healing.
Aim Glorious Pathway through the allied approach, use Law and Order to reach and stun the priority target, then toggle Ring of Punishment after contact.
Karrie is a major threat because she combines mobility with damage that punishes large HP pools. Lesley can also maintain distance and pressure from range.
Immobile damage dealers such as Layla and Gord have difficulty escaping his movement burst, stun, pathway slow, and sustained close-range ring.
Hylos is strongest when the team treats his movement as a shared plan. Preserve Mana before contact, point Glorious Pathway through allied follow-up, stun the target that matters, and keep Ring of Punishment active only while it is generating pressure. Change the defensive items for the enemy damage profile instead of copying one build into every match. With that discipline, Hylos can absorb the first rotation without wasting the opportunity he creates.
