Aldous is a scaling Fighter who turns disciplined last-hitting into one of MLBB's hardest single Basic Attacks. His first minutes are about protecting the Soul Steal stack economy. Once the map opens, Contract: Chase Fate gives global vision and a direct route to isolated damage dealers, but a bad target choice can deliver him into a full enemy team.

Quick answer: prioritize Contract: Soul Steal, farm siege minions without forcing early fights, and use Fighter Emblem with Agility, Wilderness Blessing, and Quantum Charge. Sprint is the safest default Battle Spell for reaching or leaving a target; Flicker is the short repositioning alternative. Reveal with Contract: Chase Fate first, then fly only when the target is isolated or allied follow-up is already moving.
In-game context: MLBB game version 2.1.88.12027, observed on August 14, 2026. Skills, level-one stats, five complete six-item builds, talents, and skin availability use that in-game state.

Aldous Skills and Stack Plan

Contract: Transform skill icon

Contract: Transform

After every two Basic Attacks, Aldous prepares a shield on his next Basic Attack. The shield gains more value with Soul Steal stacks and has a five-second trigger cooldown.

Use: Count the two setup attacks before trading so the shield lands with the empowered hit. Avoid: Do not spend the prepared hit on a target you cannot safely reach or finish.

Contract: Soul Steal skill icon

Contract: Soul Steal

Aldous empowers his next Basic Attack for Physical Damage. Last-hitting heroes or siege minions with it grants 10 Soul Steal stacks, other non-hero last hits grant four, and nearby unit deaths can also add stacks. The current in-game cap is 650.

Use: Secure siege minions and safe last hits first; the stack economy is the damage engine for every later fight. Avoid: Do not lose several waves by walking into an early duel that the lane matchup already favors.

Contract: Soul Steal in-game demonstration
Contract: Explosion skill icon

Contract: Explosion

Aldous enters a defensive stance with Damage Reduction and extra Movement Speed for up to two seconds, then damages and stuns nearby enemies. The stun and damage increase with the stance duration.

Use: Activate it before contact, absorb the first response, then release near the target to protect the Soul Steal hit. Avoid: Do not cancel immediately when the longer stance would secure the stronger stun or a safer exit.

Contract: Chase Fate skill icon

Contract: Chase Fate

Aldous reveals all enemy heroes for five seconds and can cast again to fly toward one target. Arrival deals Physical Damage based partly on the target's Max HP and knocks the target back for one second.

Use: Reveal first, choose the isolated backliner only when nearby protection is absent, and use the flight to join a favorable fight rather than to start every fight. Avoid: Do not commit merely because a low-health icon appears; the route can end under a turret or inside layered crowd control.

Skill Priority and Combos

Take Contract: Soul Steal at level one and prioritize it, with Contract: Explosion as the secondary upgrade. Level Contract: Chase Fate whenever it is available. This order matches Aldous' official-data priority and protects the stack gain that drives his damage.

Contract: Chase Fate reveal → Contract: Chase Fate flight → Contract: Soul Steal → Contract: Explosion → empowered Basic Attack. Prepare Soul Steal during the flight only when its timing will still cover arrival. Hold Explosion long enough to absorb the first response and protect the punch.

Contract: Soul Steal → Contract: Explosion → empowered Basic Attack → Contract: Soul Steal → empowered Basic Attack. Use the first skill before closing, let Explosion carry Aldous through retaliation, and take the second hit only if the wave and enemy backup still allow it.

How to Play Aldous by Game Phase

Early game

Last-hit siege minions with Soul Steal and accept a quiet lane. Stand close enough to gain nearby-unit stacks without trading half your HP for one minion. If Martis, Dyrroth, or another early bully controls the wave, keep the stack route alive instead of contesting every step.

Mid game

Use the first Ultimate cast for information before committing. Clear the nearest safe wave, watch which enemy leaves protection, and ping the flight so allies can move. A side-lane marksman is valuable only when the landing point is not a trap.

Late game

One punch can remove a damage dealer, but the target-selection cost is higher. Reveal defensive positions, wait for key crowd control, and preserve Sprint or Flicker for the space after arrival. Aldous can also threaten a side lane and force the enemy to show before flying elsewhere.

Five Common Aldous Mistakes

  1. Trading early instead of protecting Soul Steal last hits.
  2. Flying at the first low-health target without checking the landing point.
  3. Using Contract: Explosion too late to absorb the enemy's first response.
  4. Spending the empowered Basic Attack on the wrong unit before a fight.
  5. Building only damage when one defensive slot is required to survive after the punch.

Best Emblem and Battle Spell

Fighter Emblem is the balanced route. Agility adds Movement Speed, Wilderness Blessing speeds rotations through Jungle and River, and Quantum Charge rewards Basic Attack contact with healing and a brief speed increase. That combination supports Aldous before and after the empowered hit instead of asking him to win only through raw damage.

Sprint is the dependable default for a longer chase or exit after landing. Flicker is better when one short reposition decides whether Soul Steal reaches the target. Retribution belongs only to a deliberate Jungle plan; do not take it for EXP Lane merely because one setup used a Jungle route.

Five Current Aldous Builds

The five current routes agree on a six-item physical burst core, with one ordering change between Endless Battle and Blade of the Heptaseas. Use the item guide after the tables to decide whether early Ambush damage or steadier skill-to-Basic-Attack value should come first.

Equipment Guide

Use the item notes below to decide what each slot contributes. The table describes each item independently of the numbered builds.

ItemWhat it addsWhen to consider it
Rapid BootsRapid Boots
Movement Speed, Slow Reduction, and HP regeneration for reaching waves and surviving slows.Use for faster rotations and better slow resistance; switch to a defensive boot if crowd control or one damage type stops every approach.
Blade of the HeptaseasBlade of the Heptaseas
Physical Attack, HP, Physical Penetration, and an Ambush-enhanced Basic Attack after staying out of hero combat.Buy early when Aldous can approach from out of combat and land one decisive hit; delay it when constant poke prevents Ambush from preparing.
Endless BattleEndless Battle
Physical Attack, HP, cooldown reduction, Movement Speed, mana regeneration, and a post-skill true-damage Basic Attack with healing.Choose when the fight gives room for skill-to-Basic-Attack timing and repeated sustain; move it earlier for a steadier lane route.
Malefic RoarMalefic Roar
Physical Attack and high percentage Physical Penetration, with more penetration against targets that build Physical Defense.Move it earlier when priority targets are already buying Physical Defense; delay it against mostly unarmored targets.
Hunter StrikeHunter Strike
Physical Attack, cooldown reduction, Physical Penetration, and a Movement Speed burst after repeated damage to one hero or creep.Use when cooldowns and chase speed help Aldous stick after the first punch; replace it with defense when he cannot survive long enough to trigger the speed.
Rose Gold MeteorRose Gold Meteor
Physical Attack, Attack Speed, Lifesteal, scaling Hybrid Defense, and a low-HP shield with Movement Speed.Keep as a late safety slot against mixed damage and risky dives; choose a stronger defensive item when the shield does not answer the enemy's burst pattern.

Best Teammates and Matchups

Early-game cover

Balmond hero iconBruno hero icon

Balmond and Bruno can create early pressure while Aldous farms. Their job is not to donate waves; it is to keep the team functional until Soul Steal becomes a real threat.

Favorable lanes

Zilong hero iconLeomord hero iconSun hero icon

Zilong and Leomord offer more room for Aldous to build stacks than the strongest early bullies. Against Sun, identify the real hero before committing the empowered hit or the clone can waste the burst.

Early pressure threats

Martis hero iconDyrroth hero iconLukas hero icon

Martis and Dyrroth can deny early space, while Lukas represents another difficult current matchup. Shorten the lane, take nearby-unit stacks when direct last hits are unsafe, and do not turn one denied minion into a death.

Aldous Story

Aldous was the one mercenary who kept guarding the sacred Minoan Labyrinth while the kingdom around it fell into greed. When light and dark energy destroyed the kingdom, both forces entered his body and transformed him. He survived with immense strength, remained at the sealed maze, and became its defender while the other minotaurs left to search for answers.

Aldous FAQ

Should Aldous fight early?

Only when the trade is clearly safe. His priority is preserving HP and collecting Soul Steal stacks, especially from siege minions. An even lane with clean stacks is usually better than a risky early duel.

What should Aldous upgrade first?

Take and prioritize Contract: Soul Steal, upgrade Contract: Explosion second, and level Contract: Chase Fate whenever available.

When should Aldous use his Ultimate?

Use the first cast for team-wide vision, then fly only when the target is isolated, allied follow-up is moving, or the landing point creates a clear objective advantage.

Is Sprint or Flicker better?

Sprint is the safer general choice because it supports a longer chase and exit. Flicker is stronger when one short reposition is enough to land the empowered Basic Attack or escape immediate control.

Can Aldous Jungle?

Yes, but it changes the team plan and requires Retribution. Do not move an EXP Lane setup into Jungle without checking who takes the lane farm and how the team protects Aldous's early stack path.

Final Verdict

Aldous wins through restraint before force. Protect the first waves, turn Soul Steal into a reliable stack engine, reveal the map before choosing a target, and build enough safety to survive the moment after the punch lands.
