Why Pick Odette?

Odette is a Mid Lane burst mage built around a protected area-damage window. Avian Authority gives her fast wave pressure and a two-second slow, Blue Nova supplies a 1.5-second immobilize that can split to a second nearby target, and Swan Song converts that control into sustained damage. Lakeshore Ambience rewards every cast with bouncing sound waves, so clustered fights around Turtle, Lord, jungle entrances, and base defense suit her far better than open chases.

Pick her when Johnson, Jawhead, a durable roamer, or another initiator can fix enemy movement before she commits. Avoid a blind pick into multiple airborne, displacement, transform, or suppression threats. Swan Song is a channel: once it is interrupted, the lost damage cannot be recovered by simply standing in the same place.

Odette Skills, Priority, and Combos

Skill priority: unlock Avian Authority at level 1, prioritize Avian Authority, keep Blue Nova as the secondary upgrade, and level Swan Song whenever it is available. The first skill gives the most dependable clear and poke. Do not reverse the priority just because Blue Nova has crowd control; its main value is creating the cast window, not replacing the wave-clear tool.

Avian Authority

Odette releases a magic swan in the target direction, dealing 300 (+150% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to enemies hit and slowing them by 30% for 2s.

Blue Nova

Odette releases magic energy balls in the target direction, dealing 250 (+50% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to the first enemy hit and immobilizing them for 1.5s. Upon hit, an energy ball splits off to attack a nearby enemy (prioritizes enemy heroes), dealing 250 (+50% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and immobilizing them for 1.5s.

Swan Song

Odette begins to dance, gaining a 1200 (+150% Total Magic Power) shield while dealing up to 2000 (+750% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to enemies in a large area around her for 5s. The bounce speed and frequency of Lakeshore Ambience's sound wave in the area are also enhanced when the skill is active. Use again while the skill is active to dash in the target direction. The skill is a channeling cast and will be interrupted if Odette is hit by high level control effects (knocked airborne, transformed, etc.) or if she performs another action.

Teamfight combo

Blue Nova→Swan Song→Swan Song→Avian Authority

Blue Nova → Swan Song → Swan Song dash → Avian Authority. Root the first target only after their escape is committed, start Swan Song while the control window is active, and use the recast dash when enemies begin leaving the radius. Finish with Avian Authority after the channel ends or when a safe exit matters more than another tick. Do not spend the dash at the start unless it secures a protected angle; it is Odette's only built-in reposition during the channel.

Laning combo

Avian Authority→Blue Nova→Swan Song

Avian Authority → Blue Nova → Swan Song. Slow first so Blue Nova has a cleaner line, then commit Swan Song only when the immobilize lands and the enemy interruption is absent. For ordinary lane trades, stop after the first two skills, weave the empowered Basic Attack, and preserve the Ultimate for a real kill or objective rotation.

Best Teammates, Threats, and Favorable Matchups

Engage and transport partners

Johnson and Jawhead can create the exact entry or relocation Odette needs, while Yve adds a large control zone that makes leaving Swan Song harder. Let the partner reveal the fight first; Odette follows instead of standing beside the initiator.

Interrupt threats

Minotaur and Edith bring reliable crowd control that can end a channel, and Fredrinn is durable enough to enter the area while holding an interruption. Offset from the frontline and wait until the critical control animation is committed.

Backlines Odette can punish

Layla and Irithel dislike being trapped in a grouped fight without a clean interruption. Blue Nova and an allied engage can hold them inside the opening Swan Song ticks, but Odette still should not chase beyond her protection.

Draft caution

Do not stack fragile area mages without a real frontline, and respect mobile supports that can pull carries out of the damage zone. The question is not whether Odette has enough damage; it is whether the team can hold one safe channel.

Odette Story
