Franco is a roaming Tank who turns vision, patience, and one accurate catch into a numbers advantage. His cleanest plan is to approach unseen, force a target to respect Iron Hook, then secure the real opening with either a hook chain or Flicker into Bloody Hunt. He is durable, fast out of combat, and exceptionally disruptive, but a missed hook can leave his team without initiation for the next several seconds.

Quick Answer: How Should You Play Franco?

Roam for angles, not random hooks. Let Wasteland Force activate, approach from fog or a side lane, and make the enemy choose between giving ground and exposing a carry. When a target is reachable, use Iron Hook → Fury Shock → Bloody Hunt. In a decisive teamfight, Flicker → Bloody Hunt → Iron Hook → Fury Shock is the reliable catch sequence.

  • Pick Franco when: your damage dealers can instantly punish one displaced or suppressed target.
  • Be careful when: enemies have constant mobility, control immunity, or enough bodies to block Iron Hook.
  • Core discipline: stop casting hooks just because they are available; cast when a hit changes the map.
Current evidence: gameplay values and builds were checked in client build 2.1.88.1202.1 on July 28, 2026. Skin availability was observed July 29, 2026. Builds, shop labels and balance values can change after those dates.

Franco Skills: Mechanics and Decisions

Wasteland Force skill iconWasteland Force

Passive. After five damage-free seconds, Franco gains 10% Movement Speed, restores 1% Max HP each second, and stores up to ten Wasteland Force stacks. His next skill consumes the stacks for up to 150% extra damage.

Wasteland Force in-game demonstration
Figure 2. Wasteland Force demonstration from the MLBB English client, version 2.1.88.1202.1, captured July 28, 2026.
Use it when

Use the out-of-combat window to rotate, heal and threaten from fog.

Why it works

It turns patient pathing into speed, sustain and a stronger first cast.

Do not

Do not take stray poke before a planned pick; it resets the five-second setup.

Iron Hook skill iconIron Hook

15.0s cooldown; 135 mana at level 1. Iron Hook hits the first enemy in its path for 400 (+100% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage at level 1 and drags that unit to Franco. Its cooldown falls to 11.0 seconds and base damage rises to 650 at max rank.

Iron Hook in-game demonstration
Figure 3. Iron Hook demonstration from the MLBB English client, version 2.1.88.1202.1, captured July 28, 2026.
Use it when

Cast from fog, around minion gaps, or after an ally forces a predictable dodge.

Why it works

Displacement interrupts many movement and channel actions while moving the target into allied damage.

Do not

Do not throw through a healthy minion wave or reveal your angle before allies are ready.

Fury Shock skill iconFury Shock

7.0s cooldown; 40 mana at level 1. Fury Shock deals 300 plus 4% of Franco's Max HP as Physical Damage around him and slows enemies by 70% for 1.5 seconds. Its cooldown falls to 4.5 seconds at max rank.

Fury Shock in-game demonstration
Figure 4. Fury Shock demonstration from the MLBB English client, version 2.1.88.1202.1, captured July 28, 2026.
Use it when

Press it immediately after a hook, during a body block, or to slow enemies trying to pass Franco.

Why it works

The Max HP scaling fits tank builds and the heavy slow keeps a pulled target inside the danger zone.

Do not

Do not spend it on the wave when an objective fight can start within seconds.

Bloody Hunt skill iconBloody Hunt

62.0s cooldown; 110 mana at level 1. Bloody Hunt suppresses one enemy hero for 1.8 seconds and strikes six times. Each hit begins at 50 (+70% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage, while the cooldown falls to 48 seconds at level 3.

Bloody Hunt in-game demonstration
Figure 5. Bloody Hunt demonstration from the MLBB English client, version 2.1.88.1202.1, captured July 28, 2026.
Use it when

Use it on a priority carry after Flicker, a hook, or a teammate's reveal makes the target reachable.

Why it works

Suppression cannot be cleansed and stops movement, basic attacks and skills for the full channel unless Franco is interrupted.

Do not

Do not channel inside uncontrolled enemy crowd control; Franco can be interrupted even though the victim cannot cleanse suppression.

Skill Priority and Franco Combos

Skill upgrade priority

Take Iron Hook at level 1, prioritize Iron Hook, use Fury Shock as the secondary upgrade, and level Bloody Hunt whenever available. The priority improves the range-threat tool that defines Franco's lane pressure while keeping Fury Shock ready for close control.

Teamfight combo: Flicker → Bloody Hunt → Iron Hook → Fury Shock

Flicker combo iconFlicker
Bloody Hunt combo iconBloody Hunt
Iron Hook combo iconIron Hook
Fury Shock combo iconFury Shock

When: a carry is exposed but can sidestep a visible hook. Why: Flicker removes the aiming delay, suppression locks the target, then Hook and Fury Shock extend control. Do not: Flicker into five enemies without allied damage or an exit.

Laning combo: Iron Hook → Fury Shock → Bloody Hunt

Iron Hook combo iconIron Hook
Fury Shock combo iconFury Shock
Bloody Hunt combo iconBloody Hunt

When: a low-mobility target walks beyond minion cover. Why: Hook repositions, Fury Shock applies a 70% slow, and Bloody Hunt prevents escape. Do not: suppress a tank if the enemy damage dealer is still reachable.

How to Play Franco by Game Phase

Early game

Help the mid laner establish the first wave, then disappear from direct vision. Use movement speed and brush routes to pressure both river entrances. Hooking a buff is only valuable when it does not abandon a vulnerable lane or reveal your whole rotation.

Mid game

Move with the damage dealer who can finish your catch. Before Turtle or Lord, stand where the enemy must face-check you. If opponents group behind tanks, save Hook and threaten Flicker-suppression from a side angle.

Late game

One pick can end the match, so information matters more than spam. Protect the carry when the enemy has dive; otherwise, occupy fog near the next objective and force the enemy marksman to give up space.

Five Franco Mistakes That Throw Picks

  1. Hooking through minions. Wait for the wave gap or change the angle.
  2. Showing before the objective. Franco loses pressure when enemies know exactly where the hook starts.
  3. Suppressing without checking interrupts. Bloody Hunt controls the victim, but Franco can still be interrupted.
  4. Building one defense route every match. Choose Athena's Shield for burst magic, Radiant Armor for repeated magic hits, and Antique Cuirass against physical skill damage.
  5. Using Flicker only to travel. Save it for a decisive suppression, hook reposition, or escape unless the rotation wins a major objective.

Best Franco Emblem and Battle Spell

Observation boundary (July 28, 2026): the visible client Battle Setup showed Revitalize and a locked Flicker option, while Role Emblems and custom talents could not be fully expanded on the current account. The recommendations below therefore combine that visible setup with dated external references accessed July 29, 2026. Check the live client before committing resources.

Default: Support Emblem + Flicker

Talents: Agility, Pull Yourself Together, Focusing Mark.

When: you need fast rotations and repeated pick attempts. Why: movement speed creates hook angles, Pull Yourself Together reduces spell and active-item downtime, and Focusing Mark rewards ally follow-up. Do not: spend Flicker to close a harmless gap when fog or a safe hook can do the same job.

Frontline alternative: Tank Emblem

Talents: Vitality, Tenacity, Concussive Blast. Pair with Revitalize for team sustain or Vengeance into heavy physical pressure.

When: Franco must absorb return damage and hold vision. Why: HP and under-pressure defense support close fights. Do not: lock this route against every draft; it gives up some rotation utility.

Recommendation basis: the visible Battle Setup plus ONE Esports, MLBBHub, and the ManaBuy Emblem Guide, accessed July 29, 2026.

Franco Story

Franco is a permafrost warrior from the Frozen Sea beyond Northern Vale. After Bane's return shattered the sea people's peace, Franco and his allies organized to resist Bane's rule and reclaim their home. That rivalry fits his gameplay identity: he advances through hostile space, isolates one threat, and holds the line for everyone behind him.

Franco FAQ

What is Franco's best combo?

For a lane catch, use Iron Hook → Fury Shock → Bloody Hunt. For a decisive carry pick, use Flicker → Bloody Hunt → Iron Hook → Fury Shock when allies can follow.

Which skill should Franco level first?

Take and prioritize Iron Hook, use Fury Shock as the secondary upgrade, and level Bloody Hunt whenever it is available.

Is Flicker always the best Battle Spell?

Flicker is the default pick tool because it enables sudden suppression and hook repositioning. Revitalize or Vengeance can work when the draft requires sustained front-line value.

Why does Franco build Fleeting Time?

Assists reduce the current ultimate cooldown by 30%, creating more Bloody Hunt windows when Franco is consistently involved in successful picks.

Can Purify remove Bloody Hunt?

No. Bloody Hunt applies suppression, which the current client describes as an ultimate-level control effect that cannot be removed.

Are the skin prices permanent?

No. The table records what the English client showed on July 29, 2026. Check the current Shop before spending because direct sales and event labels can change.

Verdict: Is Franco Worth Learning?

Yes—if you enjoy controlling vision and creating one high-value pick. Franco rewards restraint more than volume: the threat of Iron Hook can move enemies even before it lands. Learn the lane combo, keep Flicker for meaningful targets, and adapt defense items to the enemy damage pattern. If your team cannot follow catches or the enemy draft can ignore the hook threat, shift from fishing to peel and suppression.
