Marvel Rivals separates premium spending, store purchases, Battle Pass progress, cosmetic customization, and limited events into different balances. The important distinction is not only the icon color: each currency has a different conversion direction, reset rule, and eligible store.
Lattice and Units are the main spending pair. Lattice is primarily purchased, Units buy cosmetics in the store, and the official base exchange is 1 Lattice to 1 Unit. Chrono Tokens, Unstable Molecules, Costume Coins, Accessory Points, and limited-time Units solve narrower jobs and should not be budgeted as if they were ordinary Units.
| Currency | How it enters the account | What it buys | Expiry or conversion risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct purchase; selected Battle Pass rewards | Battle Passes, eligible Lattice purchases, gifts, and conversion to supported currencies | Do not convert before the exact checkout is known. | |
| Events, achievements, pass rewards, challenges, or Lattice conversion | Costumes, bundles, emotes, sprays, nameplates, and MVP animations | Lattice-to-Unit exchange is one-way in official documentation. | |
| Specified events or promotions | Eligible Unit-priced store items | Expire on the event’s stated deadline; spend these first. | |
| Challenges, events, pass bonuses, and eligible conversion | Battle Pass reward pages | Season-linked balance; verify reset and carryover text in the live pass. | |
| Selected reward events | An eligible costume or the current exchange-store alternative | Check the eligible roster before choosing Units instead. | |
| Events, passes, and eligible conversion | Chromas and Ultimate Ability VFX | The base costume may be required; ownership matters more than the currency alone. | |
| Eligible match modes or post-pass conversion options | Hero accessories in the accessory system | Mode eligibility and item price can change; verify the live accessory page. |

| Before spending | Check this | Why it prevents waste |
|---|---|---|
| Store cosmetic | Unit price, owned bundle items, and limited-time Unit expiry | Ownership discounts and expiring balances can reduce the paid shortfall. |
| Battle Pass | Purchase price, token progress, page requirements, and pass persistence | Lattice buys access; Chrono Tokens unlock the rewards. |
| Chroma or VFX | Base costume ownership and Unstable Molecule cost | Customization currency cannot replace a missing required costume. |
| Costume Coin | Eligible costume list versus the Unit exchange option | A direct costume can be worth more than a small flexible balance. |
Older “free Units” guides often total one past season’s events and present that number as an evergreen earning rate. Do not carry that total into a current budget. Event rewards rotate; use the live event panel to count claimable Units and treat unannounced future rewards as zero.
If a costume bundle costs 1,600 Units and your account has 400 Units, the visible gap is 1,200 Units. A 1:1 conversion means 1,200 Lattice can cover that gap. The safer workflow is to open the exact store item, confirm its current price and ownership discount, subtract earned Units, and convert only the remainder.
Lattice supports cosmetic spending and Battle Pass purchases. The September 17 update also allows eligible Pick-Your-Own bundles to be gifted with Lattice, with price adjustments based on selected cosmetics and what the recipient already owns.
Lattice does not unlock stronger heroes, stat bonuses, or paid maps. Marvel Rivals’ official monetization statement says heroes, maps, and gameplay elements are free, while paid content provides visual changes.

| Player type | Best first check | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Free player | Events, achievements, free pass pages, and earned Units | Converting paid currency before using free balances |
| One-hero main | A costume or bundle for the hero you play consistently | Buying a pass full of heroes you rarely use |
| Collector | Bundle ownership discounts and rerun deadlines | Duplicate or overlapping purchases without checking owned items |
| Battle Pass player | Exact premium skins and realistic completion pace | Paying for acceleration when normal missions fit your schedule |
| Gift buyer | Recipient identity, owned cosmetics, and adjusted final price | Sending before confirming the correct friend/account |
ManaBuy’s Marvel Rivals page uses your UID and does not require an account password. Recheck the UID and final package before payment.
| Step | Question | Safe action |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Identify | Is the item priced in Lattice, Units, or sold directly? | Open the live item page and record the exact currency. |
| 2. Calculate | What is the remaining balance after the purchase? | Subtract owned currency before selecting a package. |
| 3. Convert | How many Units are actually missing? | Convert only the required Lattice; the exchange is one-way. |
| 4. Verify | Is the account UID and region correct? | Confirm both before payment and never provide a login password. |
If a bundle costs 1,600 Units and the account already has 430 Units, the real shortfall is 1,170. Compare packages against that shortfall plus any known later purchase. Buying from the headline price alone can strand value in a balance you did not intend to hold.
Keep the currencies separate until the last step. A direct Lattice purchase and a Unit store item compete for the same paid balance, but only the Unit item requires conversion. Converting the entire balance first removes flexibility if a later item is Lattice-only.
Write down four numbers before checkout: current Lattice, current Units, the exact item price, and the smallest verified package that covers the shortfall. Then record any remaining balance. This prevents the common mistake of treating a package as equal to a purchase when it may leave too little for the next item or far more than intended.
For a limited offer, also record the store closing window and platform. Currency held on one account or ecosystem should never be assumed to transfer to another. If the live game and checkout page disagree, stop and resolve the account details before paying.
Lattice is the gold premium currency, obtained mainly through purchase and used for Battle Passes, eligible purchases, gifting, and conversion to Units.
Yes. The official conversion ratio is 1 Lattice to 1 Unit.
The official monetization explanation documents Lattice-to-Units conversion, not a reverse exchange. Treat conversion as one-way unless the live client explicitly says otherwise.
No. Heroes and gameplay content are free; paid currencies focus on cosmetic content.
Use a purpose-first flow: choose the item, subtract free currency, then buy or convert only the gap. That keeps premium Lattice flexible and prevents Battle Pass tokens, Units, and Lattice from becoming one confusing balance.
