Genshin Impact Character Materials
Every Illuga ascension material and talent material, with exact totals, unlock sources, domain days, and a practical order that keeps your Resin spending under control.
Reviewed for Luna IV · Updated September 4, 2026
Illuga is a 4-star Geo polearm support whose value is tied to Geo and Lunar-Crystallize teams. Building him does not require an unusual amount of material, but his checklist spans Nod-Krai specialties, a Nod-Krai world boss, Landcruiser drops, a scheduled talent domain, and a Natlan weekly boss. This guide separates character ascension from talent upgrades so you can farm only what your intended build actually needs.
Illuga Materials: Quick Answer
Level 90 ascension
Prepare 168 Pine Amber, 46 Cyclic Military Kuuvahki Cores, the full Prithiva Topaz set, 18/30/36 Drive Shafts, and 420,000 Mora for the six ascensions.
One talent from 1 to 10
You need 3/21/38 Elysium books, 6/22/31 Drive Shafts, 6 Eroded Horns, one Crown of Insight, and 1,652,500 Mora.
Best talent-book days
The Elysium series is available from the Lightless Capital domain on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Efficient stopping point
For a support build, raise Illuga to 80/90 first, then prioritize his Skill and Burst. Triple-crowning is optional and dramatically increases Mora, books, weekly drops, and Crowns.
Complete Illuga Materials Checklist
The combined list below covers level 90 plus all three talents at level 10. If you only intend to crown one important talent, use the smaller totals in the talent section instead.

The roughly 7.05 million Mora total includes character ascension, leveling from 1 to 90, and all three talents from 1 to 10.
Illuga Ascension Materials by Level
| Ascension | Prithiva Topaz | Boss drop | Local specialty | Drive Shaft | Mora |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 → 40 | 1 Sliver | — | 3 Pine Amber | 3 Broken | 20,000 |

| Total | 1 / 9 / 9 / 6 | 46 Cores | 168 Pine Amber | 18 / 30 / 36 | 420,000 |
Those Mora figures cover ascension only. Taking a character from level 1 to 90 also consumes roughly 1.67 million Mora and about 419 Hero’s Wit equivalents. If your immediate goal is unlocking Illuga’s final ascension passive, 80/90 delivers that breakpoint without paying the full level-90 EXP cost on day one.
How to get Prithiva Topaz efficiently
Illuga needs one Prithiva Topaz Sliver, nine Fragments, nine Chunks, and six Gemstones. Geo-aligned normal and weekly bosses are the usual source, but the most efficient choice depends on your inventory. Check what the Mechanized Fortress gives you while farming its unique core, then fill the shortfall afterward. If you already own excess elemental gems of another type, an Alchemy Bench and Dust of Azoth can convert them into Prithiva Topaz without adding another boss to the route.
Do not convert every stone into the highest rarity early. Keep enough lower-tier pieces for the next ascension breakpoint, then craft upward only when the higher tier is actually required. This prevents a common mistake: owning a Gemstone but having no Fragment for an earlier stage.
Is level 90 necessary for Illuga?
Level 90 is the completion target in this guide, not a universal day-one requirement. The 80/90 breakpoint unlocks the final ascension while saving the last ten levels of character EXP and Mora. Move to 90 when Illuga’s own stats or the reaction team’s scaling justify it, or when the rest of the team is already built. Players with several unfinished weapons and supports may get more immediate account value by stopping at 80/90 temporarily.
Where to Find Pine Amber
Local specialty Northern Nod-Krai
Pine Amber is concentrated across the northern landmass, especially around Dreadshade Mire and nearby parts of Wavechaser Plain, Ashveil Peak, and the Favonius Keep area. Use the official interactive map to pin each spawn before starting a loop.
Route advice Mark the awkward nodes
Collect the dense clusters first, then mark any cave entrances or elevation changes that slow you down. Local specialties normally require a real-world respawn window, so two or more collection cycles may be necessary if you are starting from zero.
For a clean farming run, open the official HoYoLAB Interactive Map, select Pine Amber, and sync your route with the teleport points you have unlocked. Co-op collection can shorten the calendar time, but always ask the host before taking regional specialties.
How to make the route faster
Begin at a northern teleport point and clear one compact sub-area at a time instead of crossing the entire region for isolated nodes. On the first run, pin cave entrances, underground transitions, and high-elevation pieces rather than every easy roadside pickup. On the second run, those pins become a reusable route. If a marker appears close on the map but takes a long detour vertically, leave it for a separate mini-loop; route efficiency is measured in collected materials per minute, not in clearing every pin.
After collecting, record the current Pine Amber total in the same checklist as boss drops. Ascension stages ask for 3, 10, 20, 30, 45, and 60, so stopping at the next breakpoint can be more useful than waiting until all 168 are finished.
How to Farm Cyclic Military Kuuvahki Core
Cyclic Military Kuuvahki Core is Illuga’s character-ascension boss material. It drops from Super-Heavy Landrover: Mechanized Fortress, located in the underground facility on the northeast side of Paha Isle in Nod-Krai, near the Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau.
World-boss drops vary with World Level and luck, so avoid promising yourself a fixed number of runs. Track the core count directly and stop once the remaining ascension stage is covered.
Landcruiser Drive Shaft Farming
Broken, Reinforced, and Precision Drive Shafts come from Landcruiser enemies across Nod-Krai. Lower-tier drops can be crafted upward at an Alchemy Bench, which means every Landcruiser route contributes to the same final total.
Broken18 ascension6 per talent
Reinforced30 ascension22 per talent
Precision36 ascension31 per talent
Use the Adventurer’s Handbook to track targets, but remember that the handbook does not necessarily reveal every spawn. If you are farming for level 90 and triple crowns, your combined requirement becomes 36 Broken, 96 Reinforced, and 129 Precision Drive Shafts. That is the number worth entering into an inventory tracker.
Crafting math that avoids over-farming
Three lower-rarity drops craft into one item of the next tier, before any character crafting passive is applied. Convert only the amount needed for the current upgrade screen and retain a small Broken Drive Shaft reserve: early ascensions and the first talent level still consume the base tier directly. Enemy drops are Resin-free, so they are a better target during exploration time than after you have already emptied your Resin on domains.
Illuga Talent Materials and Domain Schedule
Illuga uses the Elysium talent-book family from the Lightless Capital domain. It is open on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. Sunday is the flexible catch-up day, but Tuesday and Friday are better for players who want to spread Resin use through the week.
| Upgrade target | Elysium books | Drive Shafts | Eroded Horn | Crowns | Mora |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| One talent 1 → 8 | 3 Teachings / 21 Guides / 10 Philosophies | 6 Broken / 22 Reinforced / 10 Precision | 2 | 0 | 502,500 |
| One talent 1 → 9 | 3 / 21 / 22 | 6 / 22 / 19 | 4 | 0 | 952,500 |
| One talent 1 → 10 | 3 / 21 / 38 | 6 / 22 / 31 | 6 | 1 | 1,652,500 |
| All talents 1 → 10 | 9 / 63 / 114 | 18 / 66 / 93 | 18 | 3 | 4,957,500 |
For most support-focused accounts, leveling the Skill and Burst before Normal Attack is the economical route. Check the exact talent descriptions in your client and invest according to the team function you actually use; a full triple crown is a personal commitment, not a prerequisite for Illuga to support Geo or Lunar-Crystallize damage.
Budget for a practical 1/8/8 build
If Normal Attack stays at level 1 and both Skill and Burst reach level 8, the two upgraded talents together use 6 Teachings, 42 Guides, and 20 Philosophies of Elysium; 12 Broken, 44 Reinforced, and 20 Precision Drive Shafts; four Eroded Horns; and 1,005,000 Mora. No Crown of Insight is required. This is a much more useful planning number than the triple-crown total for players who want a functional support quickly.
Moving those same two talents from 8 to 9 adds 24 Philosophies, 18 Precision Drive Shafts, four Eroded Horns, and 900,000 Mora in total. Moving both from 9 to 10 adds another 32 Philosophies, 24 Precision Drive Shafts, four Eroded Horns, two Crowns, and 1.4 million Mora. Those final levels should therefore be conscious investments, not automatic steps.
How to Get Eroded Horn
Eroded Horn drops from the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire in the Stone Stele Records Trounce Domain in Natlan. The encounter is tied to Natlan’s Archon Quest progression. If the domain is not available in your world yet, use the game’s quick-challenge option where eligible or prioritize unlocking the encounter.
If you need a refresher on which weekly encounters deserve Resin first, see ManaBuy’s Genshin weekly boss priority guide.
One-Week Farming Plan and Resin Priority
A “one-week plan” is best treated as an ordering system rather than a guarantee. World Level, material already owned, weekly-boss luck, co-op access, and Fragile Resin all change the result.
- Start with the weekly boss. Claim Lord of Eroded Primal Fire rewards early because another attempt cannot be forced after the weekly claim limit becomes the bottleneck.
- Farm Elysium books on Tuesday and Friday. Spend scheduled-domain Resin first; unlike bosses and Ley Lines, the correct book is not available every day.
- Use non-domain days for the Mechanized Fortress. Stop at the core count required for your current ascension target instead of blindly farming all 46 at once.
- Collect Pine Amber and Landcruiser drops without Resin. Pair enemy routes with local-specialty loops, daily commissions, and exploration.
- Use Sunday as the correction day. Finish missing Elysium books, then move remaining Resin to the boss, Mora, or character EXP Ley Lines.
Example weekly rhythm
Monday: claim the weekly boss and spend the remaining Resin on the Mechanized Fortress. Tuesday: farm Elysium books. Wednesday and Thursday: return to the world boss or cover Mora and EXP shortages. Friday: farm Elysium again. Saturday: finish ascension cores or save Condensed Resin. Sunday: correct whichever scheduled-book tier is furthest behind. Pine Amber and Landcruiser routes can be added on any day because they do not consume Original Resin.
If weekly-boss drops are already the limiting resource, stop forcing talent books far beyond the number you can currently use. Shift that Resin into ascension, Mora, EXP, or another character. This keeps the account progressing while the weekly lockout catches up.
A practical upgrade order
For a newly pulled support Illuga, aim for level 70/80 and usable talents first, then 80/90, then Skill and Burst upgrades. Level 90 can be worthwhile if your team benefits strongly from his stats and reaction scaling, but it should not delay functional talents, a leveled weapon, or the rest of the team.

Illuga uses Elysium books, Drive Shafts, Eroded Horn, Crowns of Insight, and Mora for talent upgrades.
Which days can I farm Elysium books?
Farm the Elysium series from Lightless Capital on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
How many Eroded Horns are needed?
One talent from level 1 to 10 needs six Eroded Horns. Triple-crowning Illuga requires 18.
Should I triple-crown Illuga?
Not by default. Support builds usually obtain better efficiency by prioritizing Skill and Burst and leaving Normal Attack lower unless the player values full completion.
Final inventory check before upgrading
Keep ascension-only and talent-only counts in separate columns. First confirm 168 Pine Amber and 46 Kuuvahki Cores for level 90. Next decide whether you are building 1/8/8, one crown, two crowns, or all three talents. Only then combine the shared Drive Shaft requirement. This simple separation is what prevents a player from spending talent drops and discovering that the final character ascension is short.
