Angela is a map-wide Support built around choosing the right Heartguard target before a fight begins. Love Waves keeps allies moving while marking and slowing enemies, Puppet-on-a-String punishes a target that cannot break the tether, and Smart Heart transfers movement speed to the ally carrying her.

Quick answer: prioritize Love Waves, take Heartguard whenever available, and attach to the teammate who will absorb the first enemy burst. Use Love Waves before Puppet-on-a-String so the slow helps the tether finish. Flask of the Oasis is the most important early item; Enchanted Talisman supports long fights, while Fleeting Time is the sharper choice when assists can quickly reopen Heartguard.
In-game context: MLBB game version 2.1.88.12027, observed on August 12, 2026. The build section reflects five current in-game six-item orders.

Angela Skills and How to Use Them

Smart Heart skill icon

Smart Heart

Angela gains 5% extra Movement Speed for 4s each time she casts a skill (up to 20%). When she's attached to an allied hero, the Movement Speed boost is transferred to the allied hero.

Use: Cast in a steady rhythm before and during a rotation. Why: Each cast adds 5% Movement Speed for four seconds, stacking to 20%; the speed transfers to the ally carrying Heartguard. Avoid: Do not empty every charge when no rotation or fight is forming.

Love Waves skill icon

Love Waves

Angela sends Love Waves in the target direction, dealing 170 (+80% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to enemies hit, revealing their positions briefly, and applying a stack of Lover's Mark (up to 5 stacks). Each stack of Lover's Mark increases the damage by 20% and slows enemies hit by 8% for 3s. Love Waves also restore 150 (+75% Total Magic Power) HP to allied heroes hit. Angela can store up to 5 charges of this skill, and the charge time is affected by Cooldown Reduction. When attached to allies, this skill's cooldown is reduced by 50%.

Use: Aim through both an ally and an enemy whenever the line is available. Why: Love Waves heals allies, damages and reveals enemies, and stacks Lover's Mark so later hits deal more damage and slow harder. Avoid: Do not spend all five charges on harmless poke before an objective fight.

Puppet-on-a-String skill icon

Puppet-on-a-String

Angela launches a Puppet String at the target enemy (excluding minions), dealing 300 (+40% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and gradually slowing them by up to 80%. If the enemy is still connected to the string after 3s, they'll be immobilized for 1.5s and take 450 (+60% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage. Each stack of Lover's Mark increases the final damage by 20%.

Use: Apply after Love Waves has slowed the target or after your host has closed the gap. Why: Keeping the string connected for three seconds immobilizes the target for 1.5 seconds and triggers the second damage hit. Avoid: Do not start the tether on a mobile target that still has a clean dash out.

Heartguard skill icon

Heartguard

Angela begins channeling, applying a 600 (+150% Total Magic Power) shield to the target allied hero regardless of distance. Once attached to an ally, the shield remains until detached. After the channeling is complete, she attaches herself to the allied hero for 20s, during which she can cast skills at zero Mana cost. Angela can cast this skill again to cancel the channeling or detach herself from the allied hero. The attaching state will end early if the allied hero is killed.

Use: Channel from safety just before the chosen diver takes the first burst. Why: Heartguard reaches any allied hero, supplies a large shield, and lets Angela cast at zero Mana cost while attached. Avoid: Do not wait until the host is already one hit from death or attach to a teammate with no way to stay in the fight.

Skill priority

Take Love Waves at level 1 and prioritize it for stronger damage and healing, then upgrade Puppet-on-a-String. Put a point into Heartguard whenever it becomes available. Keep at least one Love Waves charge for river pressure instead of spending every charge on the first target you see.

Teamfight Combos

Angela teamfight combos step 1Angela teamfight combos step 2Angela teamfight combos step 3Angela teamfight combos step 4

In teamfights, use Angela's Ultimate first to attach to a strong ally, and use her 1st Skill to deal damage or heal allies when needed. When enemies try to close in, CC them with her 2nd Skill, and follow up with her 1st Skill for sustained damage.

Laning Combos

In the laning phase, use Angela's 1st Skill to constantly poke the enemy. When their HP is low, use her 2nd Skill to CC the target, then continue to deal damage with her 1st Skill.

How to Play Angela by Game Phase

Early game

Shadow the jungler through the first clear, keep one Love Waves charge for river contact, and avoid standing in front of the hero who should absorb the first spell. Angela wins the opening by arriving healthy and on time, not by forcing solo damage.

Mid game

Track the teammate most likely to start the next fight. Channel Heartguard from fog, base, or behind a wall, then fire Love Waves through the host toward retreating enemies. A completed tether is follow-up control, not the opening gamble.

Late game

Decide the Heartguard target before Lord pressure begins. Attach to the hero taking the first punishment, but keep vision on Angela's empty body and detach when the host's route becomes hopeless.

Common Angela Mistakes

  1. Waiting until the ally is nearly dead before starting Heartguard.
  2. Attaching to a backliner who is leaving the fight instead of the diver creating space.
  3. Spending all Love Waves charges before Turtle or Lord contact.
  4. Starting Puppet-on-a-String before the target is slowed or committed.
  5. Ignoring Angela's original position while attached.

Best Emblem and Battle Spell

Use Support Emblem with Agility, Pull Yourself Together, and Focusing Mark. The setup improves rotation speed, shortens Flicker and active-item cooldowns, and helps allies punish enemies tagged by Angela. Flicker is the safest default because Angela has no dash; Revitalize is the alternative when the team wants a stronger fixed healing zone.

Five Current Angela Builds

All five paths begin with Favor and Flask of the Oasis. Builds 1 and 2 are the same stable utility order, Build 3 brings Ice Queen Wand forward, Build 4 adds Fleeting Time for repeat Heartguard windows, and Build 5 delays Ice Queen Wand until the final slot.

Angela Story

Dr. Baker left Laboratory 1718 after rejecting its human-weapon experiments. He built Peace Android Prototype 1 from a mechanical frame, puppet strings, and synthetic skin, then filled her memory with stories about love and hope. He named her Angela and sent her away in an escape capsule when the laboratory's danger reached him.

Angela FAQ

Who should Angela use Heartguard on?

Attach to the ally about to take the first meaningful burst, usually a jungler or EXP laner entering the enemy formation. The best target is not automatically the teammate with the lowest current HP.

What is Angela's core item?

Flask of the Oasis is the central early purchase because it improves healing and shielding while protecting a low-HP ally. The next slot depends on whether Angela needs Mana, more slows, anti-sustain pressure, or faster Heartguard resets.

Does Love Waves only heal?

No. It also damages, briefly reveals enemy positions, applies Lover's Mark, and slows. Aim through both teams whenever possible so one charge creates pressure and sustain at the same time.

Why does Puppet-on-a-String break?

The target can leave the tether range before three seconds pass. Apply Love Waves first, wait for a dash to be spent, or let the attached host close the distance before starting the string.

Is Flicker or Revitalize better?

Flicker is the safer default because it fixes Angela's lack of mobility and protects her channel position. Revitalize is better when the team can fight inside one area and already has enough protection for Angela's body.

Final Verdict

Angela is strongest when the player predicts the fight rather than reacts to a dying health bar. Choose the host early, protect the channel, preserve Love Waves charges, and let the item order answer the match instead of chasing one fixed damage build.
