The Clash of Clans Portal Panic Medal Event is live for Town Hall 6 and above. Players collect Sour Elixir in battles, fill the Sour Elixir Fountain, unlock event-track rewards and earn Rift Medals for the Trader Shop. The headline reward is Portal Pendant, new Epic Equipment for the Minion Prince.

The event runs from October 8 to October 25, 2026. The Trader Shop stays open through October 27, giving players two extra days to spend remaining Rift Medals. Exact timers should still be checked in game because the live event screen is the final operational source.

Quick answer: Start by collecting Sour Elixir through normal attacks, claim free-track rewards as they unlock, and avoid spending Rift Medals until you have checked the price of Portal Pendant and the other offers shown on your account. Buy the Event Pass only if the paid track contains rewards you will actually claim before October 25. Do not wait until October 27 to earn progress—the extra window is for spending medals, not extending the event track.

Portal Panic dates and deadlines

October 8

Medal Event begins

TH6+ players can collect Sour Elixir and progress through the event track.

October 25

Event progress ends

Finish earning Sour Elixir and claiming track progress before the live countdown expires.

October 27

Trader Shop closes

Spend remaining Rift Medals. This does not add two extra days of event-track progress.

Supercell also schedules a second Battle Options window for October 17–21, when TH6+ players can choose Sour Elixir during attacks. From October 20–25, Portal Pendant is temporarily boosted to its maximum level for eligible TH9+ accounts, allowing players to test the equipment before the Medal Event ends.

How Portal Panic progression works

  1. Attack while the event is active and collect Sour Elixir.
  2. Add the collected resource to the Sour Elixir Fountain and move along the event track.
  3. Claim unlocked rewards, temporary troops and Rift Medals.
  4. Open the Trader Shop and compare the medal cost of Portal Pendant with the other offers visible on your account.
  5. Spend all medals before the shop closes on October 27.

The official announcement does not publish a complete account-by-account reward table. Do not assume every Town Hall sees identical quantities or offers; use the live track for the exact rewards, thresholds and medal prices available to you.

What should you spend Rift Medals on?

Priority: Portal Pendant

If you use Minion Prince and want long-term account value, check the new Epic Equipment first. Confirm its live medal cost before buying anything else.

Then solve a real bottleneck

After reserving medals for your main target, compare any Ores, progression items or cosmetics shown in the Trader Shop with what your account currently lacks.

Cosmetics are preference purchases

A decoration or cosmetic can be the right choice if collection is your goal, but it does not create combat power simply because it is event-limited.

Do not leave medals unused

The shop closes two days after event progression. Set a reminder and finish spending before October 27.

Important limitation: without a verified live reward table from the player's own event screen, this guide does not assign invented medal costs or claim a universal “best” shopping list.

How to use the temporary troops

Portal Panic includes temporary troops, led by Totem Thrower. Supercell describes it as a ground-targeting ranged unit with a six-tile range. Its first attack and every fourth attack throws a totem that stuns nearby defenses and summons a stationary Tiny Totem.

Tiny Totems absorb damage and can be targeted by both ground and air defenses, but they also lose health over time. Use regular Battles to learn the timing before committing a competitive Ranked attack. Temporary troops cannot be treated as permanent army-building advice because they leave when the event ends.

Is the Portal Panic Event Pass worth it?

Likely worth considering

You are actively completing the track, value several paid rewards, and can claim them before the October 25 deadline.

Wait and inspect first

You joined late, your play time is uncertain, or you have not checked which paid rewards and medal totals are shown on your account.

On October 13, 2026, ManaBuy displayed the Event Pass at $4.73 USD, or $4.59 with ManaBuy Premium. These are time-stamped product-card prices, not guaranteed totals for every currency, region or payment method.

Check the live Event Pass before buying

Confirm the item name, your account details, currency and final total. The purchase should follow your event progress—not replace checking whether you can finish the track.

Check current Event Pass availability

Portal Panic checklist

  • Confirm the event appears on the intended TH6+ account.
  • Check the live October 25 countdown in your time zone.
  • Use normal attacks to collect Sour Elixir instead of forcing inefficient sessions.
  • Reserve enough Rift Medals for Portal Pendant if it is your priority.
  • Test the boosted equipment during October 20–25 if your account is eligible.
  • Spend remaining medals before the Trader Shop closes October 27.
