Mornye and Chisa do not compete for the same job in every Aemeath team. Your answer starts with Aemeath's Resonance Mode—not with a generic damage-versus-comfort tier list.

Quick answer
Use Mornye when Aemeath is set to Tune Rupture, especially in the premium Aemeath–Lynae–Mornye core. Use Chisa when Aemeath is set to Fusion Burst, where Chisa's negative-status support, defense reduction, grouping, sustain, and extra Fusion Burst stack capacity have a real purpose. In the current complete premium routes, that usually means Aemeath–Denia–Chisa.
Do not choose between them because one is “the damage option” and the other is “the safe option.” Both provide support and survival utility. They belong to different combat systems, and Aemeath cannot run both Resonance Modes at the same time.
First, choose Aemeath's Resonance Mode
Aemeath is a five-star Fusion Sword main DPS. In her Character Skills menu, she can be assigned either Resonance Mode — Tune Rupture or Resonance Mode — Fusion Burst. The selection is not cosmetic. It changes which status Aemeath applies and responds to, which teammates can build the mechanic with her, and what her main burst window consumes.
This is why a one-line “Mornye is better” or “Chisa is safer” answer is misleading. If Aemeath is in Tune Rupture mode, Chisa cannot replace Mornye's interaction with that system. If Aemeath is in Fusion Burst mode, Mornye's specialized Tune Rupture value no longer solves the team's main mechanical need.
| Aemeath route | Recommended support | Premium core | Main reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tune Rupture | Mornye | Aemeath + Lynae + Mornye | Mornye directly supports Tune Break and Tune Rupture while adding healing, team buffs, interruption resistance, and emergency protection. |
| Fusion Burst | Chisa | Aemeath + Denia + Chisa | Chisa supports negative-status teams, reduces enemy DEF, groups targets, sustains the team, and raises the Fusion Burst stack limit. |
| Incomplete roster | Use the route your account can finish | Do not pull one support in isolation | Lynae and Denia affect the comparison. Judge the three-character team, not only the last slot. |
Why Mornye fits Tune Rupture Aemeath

Mornye is built around entering Wide Field Observation Mode, establishing her field, and placing markers that become more valuable when the team triggers the Tune Break interactions she supports. In a Tune Rupture Aemeath team, that kit is not background utility: it is part of the same damage language used by Aemeath and Lynae.
Her support package is broader than one damage buff. Her field improves Off-Tune buildup and resistance to interruption, while the enhanced field also supplies team DEF and stronger healing. Her Outro gives party-wide All DMG Amplification. She also carries limited-hit protection and a death-prevention effect with a long cooldown, which can save a run without turning her into a passive shield bot.
Mornye's markers reward a team that actually triggers Tune Rupture or Tune Strain. At S0, this condition matters. Her early Sequences make her more flexible outside those teams, but the Aemeath–Lynae core already gives her the environment she wants. That is why she should be judged as a system support, not as a generic Fusion character who happens to heal.
How much DEF does Mornye need?
Mornye does scale meaningfully with DEF. Her healing and parts of her defensive utility benefit from it, and DEF main stats are normal on her Echo build. But Energy Regen is the first build check, because her strongest team effects and rotation depend on reaching the relevant Energy threshold and using Liberation on schedule.
| Stat | Practical target | How to use the number |
|---|---|---|
| Energy Regen | About 240% on the out-of-combat stat screen in the commonly cited endgame setup | Mornye also receives 10% from her passive and can receive 10% from her main Echo, bringing the total to the 260% cap used by several buffs. Check your exact weapon and Echo setup. |
| DEF | Roughly 3,000+ is a useful mature-build reference | Use it as a quality target, not a hard activation requirement. A lower-DEF Mornye can still function if her Energy and rotation are correct. |
| Healing Bonus | Optional alternative on the 4-cost slot | Choose it when team comfort matters more than Mornye's personal Liberation damage. |
| Crit and Liberation DMG | Secondary after Energy | These improve personal damage, but Mornye's main value remains her support package. |
The common mistake is chasing the largest DEF number while missing the Energy requirement. A beautiful DEF panel does not compensate for a late Liberation or an incomplete support rotation. Build enough Energy first, then use DEF to strengthen healing and survivability.
Why Chisa fits Fusion Burst Aemeath

Chisa works through negative-status mechanics rather than Tune Rupture. Her Havoc Bane application contributes DEF reduction, and her kit combines field time, grouping, healing, and shields. For Aemeath specifically, the important line is that Chisa can raise the maximum Fusion Burst stack limit by three. That effect has a clear job only when Aemeath is actually set to Fusion Burst mode.
The route became more coherent once Denia gave Fusion Burst teams a dedicated second partner. That changes the comparison from the older Aemeath–Lynae–Chisa stopgap. If your goal is a current premium Fusion Burst team, compare Aemeath–Denia–Chisa against the Rupture core as complete teams rather than swapping Mornye and Chisa into the same two slots.
Chisa is also not a DEF-stacking shield specialist. Her usual build is closer to an ATK/Crit/Energy Regen hybrid, with the choice between personal damage and a more supportive healing set. Her shield and healing add comfort, but they are not the only reason she is selected.
Mornye or Chisa: decide from your account
| Your account | Better next step | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| You own Aemeath and Lynae | Build or pull Mornye | You already have the first two pieces of the established Tune Rupture core. |
| You own Aemeath and Denia | Build or pull Chisa | Chisa completes the clean Fusion Burst route and brings sustain plus status support. |
| You own Mornye but not Lynae | Check whether your alternative teammate can enable Tune Rupture/Strain | Mornye has general buffs, but part of her S0 marker value is conditional outside her preferred system. |
| You own Chisa but not Denia | Use a temporary Fusion Burst team only if it performs well for your roster | Do not treat the older Lynae–Chisa lineup as the automatic final version of the team. |
| You own neither | Pick the full route, not the isolated character | Count the cost of the second teammate, weapons, Echoes, and whether you need another endgame team. |
Do Mornye and Chisa work together?
They can occupy the same team in the literal sense, but that does not make them the recommended Aemeath core. Aemeath must commit to one Resonance Mode. Mornye wants Tune Rupture or Tune Strain to unlock her specialized marker value at S0; Chisa's distinctive Aemeath contribution belongs to Fusion Burst. Using both can leave one character's defining interaction underused while also removing Lynae or Denia.
If you are experimenting outside time-sensitive endgame, play what you enjoy. For a pull recommendation or resource guide, however, the honest default is to keep the two routes separate.
Simple rotation priorities
Tune Rupture with Mornye
- Set Aemeath and Lynae to their Tune Rupture-related modes before entering combat.
- Use Mornye's sequence to establish her field, build her enhanced state, apply the marker, cast Liberation, and hand the team buff forward through Outro.
- Use Lynae to build and pass her buffs before Aemeath takes the main damage window.
- Keep the order repeatable. If Mornye cannot reach Liberation on schedule, fix Energy Regen before chasing more DEF or damage.
Fusion Burst with Chisa
- Set Aemeath to Fusion Burst mode in the Character Skills menu.
- Use Chisa to establish Havoc Bane, build her Forte, supply sustain, and finish the part of her rotation that carries support value forward.
- Let Denia perform the dedicated Fusion Burst setup before Aemeath enters her main field sequence.
- Do not copy a Tune Rupture rotation and simply replace Mornye with Chisa; the status-building order is different.
Frequently asked questions
Is Mornye better than Chisa for Aemeath?
Mornye is the better fit for Tune Rupture Aemeath; Chisa is the better fit for Fusion Burst Aemeath. A universal winner would ignore Aemeath's selected mode and the second teammate.
Does Mornye scale with DEF?
Yes. DEF improves her healing and defensive utility, and DEF main stats are normal in her build. Energy Regen still comes first because it supports her rotation and several important effects.
Does Mornye need 260% Energy Regen?
260% total Energy Regen is the cap commonly used for her maximum Energy-scaling buffs. A common display target is about 240% before the additional 10% from her passive and 10% from the recommended main Echo. Adjust for your weapon and verify the total in your actual setup.
Is Chisa only a shielder?
No. Chisa is a Havoc Broadblade hybrid support/sub-DPS who can heal and shield while also applying negative-status support, reducing enemy DEF, grouping targets, and improving the Fusion Burst framework.
Should mobile players always choose Chisa?
No. Chisa's sustain can feel comfortable, but control method does not override team mechanics. A mobile player using Tune Rupture still gets more system synergy from Mornye.
Should I pull both?
Only if you want both routes or the characters improve other teams on your account. For one Aemeath team, complete one coherent three-character core before paying for a second alternative.
Final recommendation
Pick the combat system first. Build Mornye for Aemeath–Lynae Tune Rupture, with Energy Regen solved before you push DEF. Build Chisa for Aemeath–Denia Fusion Burst, where her negative-status tools and extra stack capacity are fully used. That answer is less dramatic than declaring one character universally stronger, but it will protect more pulls and produce a team whose mechanics actually connect.
