Treat Kingshot pet progress as three separate budgets: level food, advancement materials and refinement marks. For F2P and low spenders, keep early pets functional, save premium advancement for Lion when it unlocks, and spread refinement through cheap rarity gains before forcing one expensive pet far ahead.

| Window | Pets | Main job | F2P stop line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gen 1, roughly Day 55 | Gray Wolf, Lynx, Bison | Construction, stamina and gathering utility | Raise only for the useful skill/next unlock; do not empty refinement marks. |
| Gen 2, roughly Day 72–80 | Cheetah, Moose | Pet-food utility and combat setup | Prepare Moose to Level 15 because Lion is gated behind it. |
| Gen 3, roughly Day 110–140 | Lion, Grizzly Bear | Lion produces long-term materials; Bear adds combat utility | Lion is the first default deep investment; take Grizzly only to the next required gate unless its active skill is used. |
| Gen 4, roughly Day 190–197 | Giant Rhino, Mighty Bison | Attack and squad-capacity combat buffs | Bring Giant Rhino to the displayed Mighty Bison prerequisite (commonly Level 30), then choose by alliance role. |
| Gen 5, roughly Day 270–281 | Great Moose, Alpha Black Panther | Rally capacity and lethality | Panther is the broad F2P combat target; Great Moose rises for rally leaders. |
| Gen 6, roughly Day 350–365 | Regal White Lion, Ironclad War Elephant | Squad defense and health | Choose the stat your primary squad lacks; do not split advanced marks evenly. |
| Gen 7, roughly Day 430–449 | Ironclad War Bear | Offensive defense reduction | Save for the unlock instead of maxing a marginal older active skill. |
The 14-pet roster and pet progression guide use slightly different day estimates. Follow the order shown in your Beast Cage and treat the day ranges here as preparation windows.
| System | Main value | Default rule |
|---|---|---|
| Level | Pet skill and direct progression | Prioritize the pet whose active effect you use. |
| Advancement | Unlocks stronger stages and scaling | Save scarce materials for long-lived pets. |
| Refinement | Broad stat growth through rarity | Take cheap gains across pets before expensive high-rarity attempts. |

| Account | Priority | Stop line |
|---|---|---|
| F2P rally joiner | Lion and broad global stats | Do not exhaust marks on rally-leader-only effects. |
| Rally/garrison leader | Pets whose active skill matches attack or defense plan | Advance only if the skill will be used in competitive content. |
| Early kingdom | Functional first pets, minimal refinement | Keep a reserve for later unlocks. |
| Event pusher | Saved pet items on scoring day | Claim milestones first; ranking is optional. |
Pet upgrades can score in Strongest Governor and other progression events. The right timing is a double benefit, but points do not turn a bad upgrade into a good one. Set a permanent-progress list first, then wait for the matching scoring day.

Check top-up options after you have fixed the pet, refinement target and stopping point.
Separate the three pet budgets, protect the Lion reserve and take efficient global refinement gains. Your stop line is the point where the next upgrade steals more future value than it adds today.
